FAQ
As a new growing program, there are several questions we get asked everyday. If your specific question is not listed below please do not hesitate to contact us here.
-How did Be You Stay True start?
Be You Stay True started at the end of Andrew Curiel and Neeko Zeno's freshmen year in their dorm room. We were both just doing what any other college kids were doing, playing video games and scrolling through Instagram. Then we got inspired by the people on our feed who were doing things they were passionate about such as fitness, step, and dance so we thought to ourselves why don't we do that but with basketball.
-How many kids are in the program?
We don't necessarily have a certain amount of children in our program since our events are held during the summer. But we have grown over the last two years from 25 children to nearly 40 children at our summer camp.
-Why basketball? Are there going to be other sports in the future?
Neeko and I love basketball. We love playing, learning, and now most importantly teaching it. We get this great fulfilling feeling when we show a child something basketball related and they actually understand it and do it at practice or in a game.
-Where is the Be You Stay True Program based out of and how does it operate?
The Be You Stay True Program is based out of the Bronx, N.Y. and operates mainly at The College of Mount Saint Vincent's campus which is located at 6301 Riverdale Ave. Also our summer camp is held at Monsignor Scanlan Highschool which is located at 915 Hutchinson River Parkway. We are not officially a non for profit organization but 100% of our proceeds goes directly back to the Be You Stay True Program for new equipment, t-shirts, and other miscellaneous items to keep the program moving forward.
-Can I sign my child up? How do I do that?
Yes! The sign ups for each event is different, stay up to date on all our social media to know when our next event is and sign up your child or sibling.
